
Help comedy acts, no longer give attention to negativelities — Comedian Warris to media
Ghanaian comic Abdul Waris Umaru, known by his stage name, “Comedian Waris”, has become a huge hit to the multimedia and other industry players to job their craft in a positive light for Ghanaians to accept their styles.
According to the comedian, there were a great number of talented Ghanaian comedy acts in whose content were very unique, yet , the media hadn’t given them the needed exposure, an issue they said had cut down the growth of the industry.
Communicating in a interview with the GNA Enjoyment, Comedian Warris said having been disturbed about social multimedia posts which offered users the woking platform to post which comedians they deemed not funny, something they described as “a negative projection of our comedy acts”.
“We require the media to support us regardless of what we released there, rather than the give attention to disbelief.
“The Ghanaian funny industry has been doing well but the difficulty is our culture of embracing new things. This is not even in funny alone, but I really believe moving forward we should figure out how to take hold of new things, inches he said.
Comic Warris said most Ghanaian comedians were doing well in the industry and were exceptionally unique, hence the citizenry would not be doing them any good whenever they expected them to copy other comedians outside of the country.
He suggested that there was unity among Ghanaian comedians and called on industry players to encourage them.
“For me, My partner and i think comedy has got massive prospective even more than music because everything is about funny on social multimedia nowadays, so industry players like the media should give us support so that it would become much bigger, ” he extra.
