According to Volodymyr Zelensky, President Putin is likely to deploy nuclear weapons amidst Ukraine’s invasion and it should be of great concern to the whole world.
This comment comes after he was quizzed by CNN Journalist, Jake Tapper about the warnings of CIA Director Williams Burns that there is a possibility that Putin might use nuclear weapons as a last resort in his invasion to remove military setbacks as it reaches it’s 50th day.
‘Not only me – I think all of the world, all of the countries have to be worried because it can be not real information, but it can be truth,’ Zelensky said, speaking in English.
‘We should think not be afraid, not be afraid but be ready. But that is not a question for Ukraine, not only for Ukraine but for all the world, I think,’ he said.
He talked about chemical weapons as a key threat.
‘Chemical weapons, they should do it, they could do it, for them the life of the people [means] nothing. That’s why,’ Zelensky said, speaking in English.
His ominous remarks in the interview came after it was reported that Zelensky had personally lobbied President Joe Biden to identify Russia as a state supporter of terrorism, a move that, if implemented, would have disastrous trade and sanctions consequences.
CIA director Burns on April 14, warned in a speech;
‘Given the potential desperation of President Putin and the Russian leadership, given the setbacks that they’ve faced so far, militarily, none of us can take lightly the threat posed by a potential resort to tactical nuclear weapons or low-yield nuclear weapons,’ said the spy chief.
